Shopping on a Budget at the TPSS Co-op

There are many ways to shop thoughtfully at the TPSS Co-op while keeping costs in mind. These five tips can help you stretch your dollars while supporting a values-based store.

1. Look for Deals

Sale items are marked with green tags. Looking for these tags as you shop can help you spot discounts easily. The Co-op Deals flyer, available both online and in the store, lists current sales and can be useful for planning ahead. Sales change every two weeks.

2. Choose Co-op Basics

Co-op Basics are everyday items priced to be among the lowest-cost options in the store. These products are marked with purple tags. Basics can be a helpful place to start when you’re shopping for pantry staples or regularly used items.

3. Use the Bulk Bins

The bulk section allows you to buy only the amount you need, which can be especially useful for ingredients you use occasionally or in small quantities. Bulk options include spices, coffee, grains, beans, granola, sweets, and more. Buying in bulk can also help reduce packaging and food waste, especially if you bring your own containers.

4. Order Wholesale with our Provisions Program

Provisions is an option for TPSS members who would like to save time and money by buying items in larger quantities. Provisions items are 10% below retail.

5. SNAP Recipients Can Double Up!

Use your EBT card and receive 50% off all produce items! That’s buy-one-get-one on all fresh fruits and veggies. This program is partially funded through our Feed A Neighbor Fund.
