It’s been a tough month for the Co-op. In late, July we lost a dear member of our community – long-time cashier, Michele Byrd. While we continue to mourn, we have also been reminded how caring our community is. If you haven’t had a chance to leave a message for Michele’s family, stop by and leave a note at Customer Service. If it feels right to you, we’re collecting donations to support her family and loved ones.
In exciting news, the Board has renewed our General Manager, Mike Houston’s contract! We can’t wait to see how the Co-op will grow with his leadership for three more years.

Small Things Matter is collecting fully loaded backpacks and school supplies for children of the Takoma families they provide food support to. Drop off your donations before August 29th near Customer Service!

Our monthly Board meeting will take place on Thursday May 20, 2021 6:30pm-8:30pm. All Board meetings are now held online and are, as always, open to the public. Watch our website for the Zoom details and agenda.
August 21, 10 am – 12 pm | Love Paws Pop Up Pet Pantry
Love Paws will be offering another pop up pet food pantry this Saturday from 10-12 outside the store. Need a little help providing for your dog or cat? Stop by and spread the word!
TPSS Mourns the Loss of Michele Byrd | Mike Houston
Walking into the store this morning was eerie because Michele wasn’t standing at register 3 talking with customers and coworkers about whatever was on her mind. Michele was always on, but morning was always the best before things got busy. She would have a tale to tell about her grandson, or where she ate over the weekend, or something funny that irked her. TPSS Board Elections are Coming Soon!
There are three seats up for election this year. Interested members should submit a nomination beginning September 17 through October 14. All qualified candidates will have a chance to speak at the Fall Membership Meeting on October 17. Voting is on-line and will take place from October 19 through November 14.
